One of the most frequent requests we have from our clients is to consider special design features for their nearest and dearest pets. From adventurous cats to enthusiasm filled puppies and Instagram dog stars, our human clients’ pets range far and wide. In projects both past and future, we’ve incorporated dog runs and cat perches, as well as extra space for enthusiastic games of tag. It’s clear that there are many different ways that pets can influence a home.
You can see more pet-focused inspiration in this blog post. As evidenced by some of the photos below, we have found that even when we aren’t designing a house just for the furry creatures, they love to be the center of attention at design meetings and final photoshoots.

Cat Hill was named in part for our client’s beloved cat, Chelsea. Here she is enjoying her new home and all of its hiding places.
The ducks at Shepherd’s Meadow, one of our modern renovation projects currently under construction, is home to Francine and friends.
Hudson is Modern Accord Depot’s biggest fan – and even has his own Instagram account where you can see more of his adventures.
Brooklyn, a Mastiff, and Seven, a Great Dane, played a huge role in the design for Lake Wylie!
Jasper, the cat, was around from the very beginning of the design for FLY Modern, and has recently been joined by Plume, a new puppy addition to the FLY family. From our clients: “Plume loves her house so much! She does not like being away from it for too long – it is very cute! She is the happiest right next to it, playing on the field!”

Of course, we would be remiss not to mention all of the furry friends at Farm BnB. While they might not be in the house with the guests, these rescues at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary are the reason and inspiration for The Gray Barn Inn.
