One thing is for certain – being upstate is all about being outdoors. While we love the peace and quiet of the Hudson Valley buried in snow, summer really highlights some of our favorite things about the area. Farmers markets are bustling, outdoor dinner parties are on the horizon, and hikes around the area beckon. Even at home, we’re looking for ways to keep our connection to the outdoors, be it through courtyard spaces, outdoor showers or – one of our favorites – roof decks.
Back in March, our Design Inspiration post took a broad look at all kinds of outdoor living spaces. This month, we thought we would focus more closely on roof decks. Roof decks are one of the most popular features of our new construction projects – and are even sometimes integrated into our modern renovations. They provide a seamless connection from a second floor living space to the outdoors and often provide a great space for outdoor kitchens and dining. Keep reading to see some of our favorites. We’re using some of them as inspiration for Skyhaus and Sanibonani, as well as for a few projects we are just starting to work on.
