We’ve all been eagerly awaiting the spring weather shift…and it seems like this week we are finally turning a corner! Fingers crossed it sticks around. The warmer weather isn’t just a welcome change when we spend so much time onsite. It also means we’re able to start wrapping up some exterior punchlist items at our projects that had to wait for a warmer weather week.
In addition to being excited for spring, we’ve been continuing to make progress on projects that are hoping to start construction this summer. We’ve been doing some early bidding work on a number of our projects, which helps us stay on track early in the process. We’ve also been working through interiors on projects that are in design and in construction. It’s always fun to be jumping into interior finishes and selections!
In the Studio
Stone Hill Reno
We had a terrific first Schematic Design meeting with our clients at the end of February. We’ve spent the past couple of weeks revising and tightening our schemes to better align with our clients’ vision for the property. We had another productive meeting yesterday and are looking forward to continuing to work on refining our plans before starting Design Development on the project. Colbi, our Technical Director, has been doing some gorgeous hand sketches on trace for Cait to put into the computer. It’s a great way of collaboratively working through ideas!
Olivebridge Reno
We recently presented three different schemes to our Olivebridge Reno clients for their kitchen and bath renovation project. We had a lot of fun working through sketches and redlines in person in the office!
Fowler Lake
We had a great initial site visit to Fowler Lake recently. The existing home was built in an East Asian inspired style and has some beautiful details! We’re looking forward to digging in and working with our clients to add a new kitchen and sitting area. We’ll also be renovating the existing kitchen to transform it into a functional dining space.
Misty Hollow
We had a fantastic meeting with our client last month to review a 3D model and revised plans. We’re planning to build the house on a sloping hillside that has beautiful mountain views. The home is designed as a simple barn structure, with impressive windows and some fun design features. We’re currently working on an early budget estimate for the project and are hoping to dive into more developed drawings and interiors very soon!
On Site and In Construction
8 Oaks
We spent two days in Tampa last week to check out all of the fantastic progress that has been made at 8 Oaks. The beams and siding are nearing completion and look incredible. We used reSAWN Timber for the cladding materials and are so thrilled with how everything has turned out!
Woodland Pop House
Our clients at Woodland Pop House are busy settling in to their new home. All of the details, color and magic have really come together in this home and we are looking forward to doing a walkthrough with them very soon. For now, we’re sharing this image of the new music studio space – talk about an inspiring place to play music!
Gardiner Art Studio
We are looking forward to our punchlist walkthrough at Gardiner Art Studio, which should be happening very soon! On the exterior, siding and decking install has wrapped up and the fascia & soffit install is ongoing. Looking sharp!
Hilltop Pool House + Loft
Millwork has continued to make progress at Hilltop Loft! We’re also anticipating doing a punchlist walkthrough on this project very soon.
Undercliff
Finishes are being installed at Undercliff! The kitchen millwork install is making great progress and looks beautiful. Tile install is also going well and the interior stair treads have gone in. It’s so exciting to see this house coming to life!
Hemlock Hideaway
We are also nearing completion at Hemlock Hideaway. The GC has been working on wrapping up some punchlist items, along with finishing up some exterior painting work. We’re hopeful that with the warmer weather we’ll be able to do a walkthrough in the next few weeks. We’ve also been fielding questions about furniture and accessories from our clients, which is a fun way to finish out the project!
Vannstrom
Framing is making quick progress at Vannstrom! The second floor framing is in place – we were able to stop by and have a productive site visit with the GC team two weeks ago.
Hudson House
After some extensive foundation work, we’re happy to say that things are moving ahead at Hudson House! Framing is underway on the addition and some new footings were placed inside the existing structure. Seeing the old and the new come together on this project is a really exciting massive step forward!
