As a contractor told me this week, winter has arrived early in the Hudson Valley. We’ve been seeing snow and cold temperatures before the official start of winter next week. We’re all crossing our fingers that it means that winter will come early and leave early…
The days onsite have been cold, but we’ve continued making progress on our projects in construction. In the studio, we’ve been excited to dive into a few new projects while wrapping up design on a few more before the holidays.
In Design
Queensbury Reno
We’ve continued making progress on our Queensbury Reno project. We met with the clients to review the first round of Schematic Design and received great feedback for our second meeting, which happened earlier this week. We’re waiting for additional feedback from our clients before finalizing the design.
Hilltop Pool House
Now that the loft renovation at Hilltop is completed, we’ve been working on revisiting the pool house. We’re in the midst of bidding on this project and are looking forward to submitting for the permit in the New Year.
See-House
We are very excited to be working with our clients on a new renovation project. The quirky midcentury modern home needs a round of updates that are primarily going to be focused on renovating the interior core of the home. We’re looking forward to the opportunity to dig into this renovation while respecting the original design of the home by one of the area’s most respected modern architects!
The Nest
We’ve also been hard at work on a new home in Accord named The Nest. The site has a strong slope and a large open meadow, so we’ve been investigating schemes that run either parallel with or perpendicular to the sloped site. We had a great meeting with our clients earlier this week and are looking forward to digging into the next round of Schematic Design!
MCM32
We are also thrilled to be working on another midcentury modern renovation in Accord! We’ll be reimagining the spaces in this home to make better use of the space for a young family. We’ve been hard at work sketching and coming up with various floor plans for our meeting with our clients next week!
In Construction
Olivebridge Reno
Olivebridge Reno continues to make progress. The mudroom addition is framed out and metalwork has been completed. On the kitchen renovation the millwork is in progress and we are gearing up for tile installation in the bathroom renovations.
8 Oaks
Marica was in Tampa at the end of November and was able to stop by and see some of the progress at 8 Oaks. The courtyard pavers had been completed and she got a first glimpse of the pool in the center of the courtyard. The pergola at the large glass wall had already been installed – we love the added texture!
Artists’ Ranch
Drywall install has nearly wrapped up at Artists’ Ranch. Priming and tile prep is underway – we love the fun selections that our clients have made for the bathroom spaces!
Jardin66
Jardin66 continues to make progress – the GC recently sent us a few photos of the home in the evening. We love seeing the house all aglow and how good the board and batten siding is looking!
Quattro
Framing has continued to make progress at Quattro! The lower volumes are nearly complete, while the posts for the upper roof framing are in place and ready for the major beams to go in. The Hudson Valley views from this site are pretty spectacular in the winter!
The Gallery at ClusterOne
It’s been a big month in construction! We recently began driveway work for a new gallery space at ClusterOne. We met with the contractor onsite for a stake out and are eager to get going once we have a permit in hand!
