Presenting Woodland Pop House

We are thrilled to be sharing the final photograhs and the story behind the most colorful project we have done to date – Woodland Pop House! Brilliantly saturated colors are paired with sweeping views in this renovation and addition located on a spectacular site in Accord.

Nestled onto a steeply sloping site, Woodland Pop House proves the transformative power of bold, personal design. The home is a testament to the collaboration between our firm’s architectural vision and our clients’ extraordinary eye for color and design. Where the original house was closed-off, clunky, and architecturally confused, the renovated Woodland Pop House is light-filled, rhythmic, and intentional. By shifting the focus toward the Catskill vistas and embracing a high-saturation palette throughout, the team transformed a house that “never quite fit” into a residence that finally embraces its occupants.

Woodland Pop House is a testament to the fact that modern architecture doesn’t have to be cold or white to be sophisticated. It is a celebration of the courage to be personal — proof that a home is at its best when it refuses to blend in. For much more about the project, make sure to read the full story!

A detailed twilight shot focusing on the home’s rear elevation. The warm glow from the windows and the orange-trimmed glass doors contrast with the cool green exterior. The lower-level studio is clearly visible through large glass panes, showing a creative space filled with books, a desk, and a piano.
A straight-on daytime view of the Woodland Pop House. The upper level is clad in vertical green siding, while the lower level is a smooth, dark grey. Minimalist landscaping with a winding stone path leads to the house, which is surrounded by lush Hudson Valley forest and dappled sunlight.
A view from behind the kitchen island looking toward the open deck. The tan leather barstools face the mountain vista. The room’s color palette—green, orange, and wood—creates a bridge between the modern interior and the natural Hudson Valley landscape.
A stunning library where the walls, ceiling, built-in bookshelves, and desk are all painted the same vibrant shade of royal blue. The room is filled with hundreds of books. Two patterned armchairs face each other over a tan patterned rug, with a large white map cabinet used as a central table.
A sun-drenched music studio dominated by a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the forest. A black grand piano sits in the foreground. Against the far wall, bright red built-in bookshelves house a large collection, and a modern desk is paired with a brown leather chair on a blue striped rug.
