Looking Back: Design Process for Tranquil Abiding

While we love sharing Construction Updates and Behind the Design posts for projects that we are currently working on, we also occasionally enjoy looking back at our past work. Recently, we’ve been working on putting together some videos and materials for Tranquil Abiding. We completed this home back in July of 2020 and it was recently published in Residential Design Magazine.

We’re very proud of this project, not least because it was a phenomenal collaboration with our clients. Check out this design process video to see how the home developed over the course of design period. We had so much fun working through different iterations of the house, starting with three schemes and working our way down to the final design. We worked with our clients to fine-tune the home’s relationship to its site, select appropriate materials for interior and exterior spaces, and finesse some key details to make sure every need was accounted for.

Once the project was complete, we were also lucky enough to work with Brad Feinknopf who photographs many of our homes. Brad and his team are fantastic collaborators, bringing thoughtful vision and perspective on how to best showcase our projects. Days onsite with Brad are some of our favorites – they feel like real moments of celebration – and of course, we get really excited to finally be able to share the finished project with our clients and online!

Recently, we put together a compilation of final photos for Tranquil, as well as a few moments of some drone footage that Brad and his team shot onsite. We love how peaceful and stunning this house is and are really excited to share the final video with all of you.
