Design Inspiration: Wine Storage

For all of our wine lovers, we know that storing wine the right way is necessary. Why not make that storage beautiful to emphasize the importance of your collection? In two of our projects, we have designed custom wine storage walls that flow with the rest of the home’s design. Wine storage can exist as its own distinct cellar underground, above ground, or incorporated into public spaces of a home. In this blog we’ll break down the wine storage at two of our current projects, as well as share a range of other wine storage designs.

In Mitchell Hills, the wine storage wood connects to the second level’s main bedroom wood volume. Wine storage was always on the list of priorities for Mitchell Hills’s design to supply our client and his guests with endless wine, laughter, and togetherness. As an art collector, our client adds another piece through this sculptural jewel box. This unique storage space emphasizes the vertical lines while creating a suspension effect for the wine bottles with separated horizontal slats.

For La Serenidad, the wine storage continues the dialogue of panels throughout the exterior and interior of the home. The vertical slats continue through to the second floor and are activated as wine storage through horizontal slats creating multiple cubbies. The wine storage is located in the home’s “den” – the perfect place for poker nights.
