It’s April! And it’s…snowing?
Regardless of what the weather powers that be may have decided about spring weather, we’ve been enjoying the longer daylight hours and the sounds of birds as we complete site visits. We’ve had an extremely busy month! Construction progress has ramped up as the weather allows us to complete more exterior work, and a few are nearing completion in time for the summer weather!
We’ve also been busy with our next issue of Valley MMag and working through Schematic Design on a number of more recent projects. Perhaps most exciting of all, our team grew this past month!
Nearing Completion
Gardiner Art Studio
This wonderful little art studio is nearing completion. We are working through a few final punchlist items with the contractor and exterior landscaping is in progress, but our client has started to move in to her new home! The space feels so serene – and we love seeing new work already being produced in her space!
Hilltop Pool House + Loft
The loft space of this project is nearly complete – we walked through the project a couple of weeks ago and put together a final punchlist. The space is looking fantastic and we can’t wait to see our clients moved in and enjoying the new office, gym and sauna!
Hemlock Hideaway
We are also wrapping up a punchlist at Hemlock Hideaway in Accord! This extensive renovation project included reorganizing almost all of the interior spaces, as well as adding a garage and recladding the home with a shou sugi ban siding. One of our favorite elements of this renovation is the custom bookshelf railing in the main living area!
In Construction
Whitfield Farm
This addition and renovation project is wrapping up phase one! We love the millwork that was recently installed in the new main suite and mudroom areas. We’re also totally in love with the Concrete Collaborative tile that was selected by the clients. Demo on the renovation started last week and we’re looking forward to punch listing the addition in the next few weeks.
Artists’ Ranch
This gut renovation and addition project in Germantown is finally taking shape! The extra tall new living room space is coming together, and we are looking forward to seeing framing wrapped up and windows installed in the next few months.
IRIE House
We had a great site visit day with the whole team and had a chance to visit IRIE House to see all of the progress! The stone on the fireplace is looking great!
Quattro
We are looking forward to starting construction on Quattro soon! Trees were cleared in late March after a site visit with the team.
In the Studio
Fowler Lake
We had a great first Schematic Design meeting with our Fowler Lake clients. This addition in Ghent will provide our clients with an updated kitchen and expand their living and dining areas. We’re looking forward to meeting with them again at the end of the month and have been diving into models and interiors.
MCM Reno
Our MCM Reno clients wanted us to take another pass at the kitchen design as we start getting ready for phase one of construction. We came up with a few different versions that provided different range hood options. We’re looking forward to starting construction on this project soon!
Growing Our Team
We were also very excited to add some new members to the Studio MM team this month! We spent the end of May getting ready to welcome Betsy and Sean to the office and had a great week of onboarding to kick off April. The whole team came together at the end of the week to visit a few of our projects. It was a great way to introduce both of them to our work and to some of our favorite homes!
