Marica McKeel: architect. designer. foodie. entrepreneur.
In 2003 Marica moved to New York City to get her Masters in Architecture from Parsons and after graduating decided to make NYC her permanent home. She has experience across a broad range of building sectors having worked for Santiago Calatrava in New York from 2007 through 2010 on various projects including The World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the Chicago Spire and the Campus Master Plan for Florida Polytechnic University. Previous experience focused on designing residential projects in Tampa where she was partially responsible for developing the Channelside 212 Lofts, one of the first projects designed to bring residential housing into downtown Tampa. Marica holds a Master of Architecture from Parsons School of Design and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from North Carolina State University. Her work has been featured in various journals and publications including Tampa Bay Business Journal and Florida Architecture magazine, and most recently the Upstater, the Novedge blog: The Edge and Houzz.
In 2015 I began growing our team. “Surround yourself with the dreamers, the doers, the believers and the thinkers…”
The strength of our firm is in the quality of our team. I am extremely proud to be surrounded by an amazing group of individuals. Together we make up a wildly talented Studio MM:
In 2015, Marisa joined Studio MM as an intern after receiving her B.A. from Yale University. She thrives on collaborating with Marica on designs, detailing construction drawings, and crafting new renderings. Marisa enjoys dabbling in all things creative – in her spare time she works as a costume designer, occasionally designs furniture, and explores the arts offerings of NYC. When not in the studio, she can be found in her kitchen, experimenting with new recipes, tweaking an old favorite, or finding excuses to bake just one more cake.
Tracy has worked consistently in and around the architecture world with a background in PR and Business Administration. Since 2010 she has helped keep Studio MM on track, and as of 2015 has become an integral part of our team taking on Business Development, Marketing and Strategy roles for our firm. Tracy is a Hudson Valley locavore, our studio yoga enthusiast, and loves living out her passion for architecture and design through our social media channels.
Christina joined Studio MM as an intern in 2017. After earning her B.A. from Yale University, she began pursuing her passion for architecture by working with Marica on schematic designs, construction documents, and project management. Outside of work, she continues her architectural explorations by running humanitarian projects with young refugees in Kenya. In her remaining free time, she enjoys painting, backpacking, novel writing or occasional Thai boxing fighting.
Colbi joined Studio MM as a Project Architect in 2017. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A in 1996 and remained there practicing until 2011. Architecture has always been a passion for Colbi since she was a child. She also has extensive experience with construction which has contributed to her in-depth knowledge of details and construction techniques. Colbi’s other interests include photography, drawing and cycling.
