Upstate Art Weekend 2024

As you may have seen on our Instagram, we really enjoyed Upstate Art Weekend this past week. We loved seeing so many amazing exhibitors (including some of our own clients!) and spending time getting to know some new artists.

Our friends over at HVCH put together a post of some of the many galleries, artists and studios that we visited. Be sure to check out their post to see more images of all the fun we had! In celebration of our most recent issue of Valley MMag, today we wanted to highlight a few of our most recent contributors that participated in Upstate Art Weekend.

Ashley Garrett & Brian Wood Studio

Ashley was kind enough to be our feature interview for the Summer 2024 issue of Valley MMag! Make sure to pick up your own copy and read more about her work. We loved the exhibit at her and Brian’s shared studio space, which featured Ashley & Brian along with Gracelee Lawrence and Courtney Puckett.

Distortion Society

This is a super cool combination of tattoo parlor and art gallery in Beacon. Distortion Society is currently showcasing an exhibit by artist Gemma Bailey.

Ravenwood

Ravenwood is an amazing hub for beautiful art and great food! We stopped by for a bite during our tour of Upstate Art Weekend.

SEPTEMBER Gallery

Located in Kinderhook, SEPTEMBER is always sure to delight. The current exhibition by Taylor King, titled “UNTIL THE SUN GOES DARK”, is open until mid-September, so make sure to stop by and check it out.

Studio Tashtego

We also had a chance to stop by Studio Tashtego in Cold Spring to see “Stories from a Collection”. This is a collaboration between Manitoga / The Russel Wright Design Center and Studio Tashtego, which features objects designed or collected by American Industrial Designers Russel and Mary Wright.

Whimsy Flowers / The Hangar

This super cool renovated space was great to see – and was a terrific stop for UAW! We loved seeing work by our friend Petra as part of the group exhibit.

Pinkwater Gallery / Kingston Social

If you are planning to be in Kingston anytime soon, make sure to stop by the new Kingston Social. Part coffee shop, part gallery and part mercantile, this new shop is a labor of love and the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Army of Frogs Studio

We weren’t familiar with this studio in High Falls before reaching out to them about Valley MMag, but we love how fun and dynamic the group exhibition was over UAW. Be sure to follow them on IG to stay in the loop on upcoming events and exhibits.

STONELEAF RETREAT

This is an incredible artist retreat located in Eddyville. Sponsoring women and non-binary artists through fellowships and residencies, STONELEAF is the brainchild of Helen Toomer and Eric Romano. For more info about their work and how to support them, check out their website.
