OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our work is born of collaborative partnership. We believe that successful design is created by supportive and honest relationships with our clients, trust in our outside collaborators, and empathetic curiosity within our team.

Rooted in the narratives of our clients, we work to discover inspiration, understand daily routines, and facilitate dreams for the future. We design spaces that are functional and aspirational, elegant and expressive. We take pride in telling our clients’ stories through our architecture.

Our designs are driven by our love of the outdoors and the Hudson Valley and are a response and reflection of each site. We seek to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior, designing efficient and modern homes that resonate with their landscapes. Whether a cabin in the woods or an expansive retreat, our homes are evocative, customized responses to client and site.

ARCHITECT PROFILE

Studio MM Architect is a Hudson Valley based contemporary residential architecture firm. Founded in 2010 by Marica McKeel, AIA, the studio is known for its site-specific designs, its connections to the Hudson Valley, and its client-focused collaborations. Our work includes new homes, residential renovations, furniture design, and partnerships with local business owners. Among others, we have recently completed Tranquil Abiding, a contemporary home and meditative retreat in southern New York. Projects currently in development are located throughout the Hudson Valley and Tri-State area, in Tampa, FL, and in other cities across the United States.

Recognizing the value of building relationships with local craftspeople, we also offer Construction Management services for some of our own Hudson Valley based projects. Our Construction Management team is integrated into the fabric of our studio, creating a streamlined and unified process from start to finish. We recently completed Kaat Cliffs, an efficient home that features dual views from a glass-enclosed living space.
