I love the diversity of designs that we have in our office at any given time. Each house has a core concept or design feature that makes it unique and exciting. As you might imagine, these ideas are where we get the inspiration for our Design Inspiration posts.
Today’s post is inspired by clients who grew up in a culture where many homes are designed around a central courtyard. They cherish this idea of a courtyard as a central point of the home and brought up the concept at our initial design meeting. Whether as an interior courtyard core or a defined exterior space or a large open entryway, the courtyard should be a space that could be visually referenced throughout the house.
In our research we realized that the idea of a central courtyard could be taken in many design directions. Hope you enjoy the inspiration!
