We are very excited to be sharing the final photographs of VIA43 and the VIA43 Bunkhouse! In case you missed the announcement earlier this week, this home was published in the most recent issue of Residential Design (RD) Magazine. We are so grateful to RD for featuring this home and for doing such a wonderful job capturing the story.
Nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, VIA43 is a private residence, architecture studio, and bunkhouse that seamlessly blends living, working, and hosting under one roof. The project began with a single anchoring element—an old stone firepit with sweeping mountain views—and grew into a long, low home that settles into its landscape rather than imposing upon it.
A glass gallery divides the home and studio wings, framing views of the Catskills while serving as a rotating exhibition space for the couple’s art collection. Throughout, the home is the product of close creative partnerships with local makers and craftspeople, resulting in custom details that feel both personal and precise—from a sculpted teak sink to a hand-woven stair railing alive with color.
VIA43 represents over a decade of Studio MM’s design philosophy made tangible: thoughtful site response, craft-led collaboration, and a quiet celebration of everyday life. To see more about the home, make sure to read the full story of VIA43. We’re also excited to share more on the VIA43 Bunkhouse!
