Design Inspiration: Reading Nooks and Libraries

Many of our homes feature reading nooks – and a few even include libraries! We love a cozy nook that invites you to curl up with your favorite story. Library spaces can be some of the most inventive ones to design. Some libraries are distinct rooms that can also serve as an office space. Others evoke the idea of a library with walls of bookshelves while being integrated into a primary living area.

We’ve collected a few of our favorite designs for our own homes, along with some design inspiration from other projects. Check out some of our favorite reading nooks and libraries!

One of our favorite window seats is at Tinkerbox. Featuring a corner window, the seat is the perfect spot from which to watch deer, sketch, or curl up with a favorite book.

We’re also designing a library space for a project called Hemlock Hideaway. This will be a full wall of books integrated into an entry and music studio space.
