As the summer has come and gone, we’ve made lots of progress on Kaat Cliffs. We’re aiming to be done with the house before the end of the year and we’re getting so close to completion that this will likely be our last Construction Update. We can’t wait to share with you the final product!
Last time we wrote, we had just finished exterior framing and roofing. Since then, we finished concrete slab prep, pour and polishing – which actually involves three separate subcontractors! We were able to unload and install some truly massive windows courtesy of Harbrook Windows and Doors and Cherry Hill Construction. These might be some of the biggest windows we’ve ever had the joy of seeing in one of our homes.
From there, interior framing, electrical, plumbing and HVAC were all installed. We closed up the walls and have been moving into finishing work. The first coat of paint is on the walls, the exterior stucco work is complete, and we’ve started tiling and painting some very colorful bathrooms. On the exterior, the siding and soffits are up and we’re working on roof finishing work. It’s amazing to see how the speed of construction really picks up after getting foundation and framing up and ready! Make sure to find our latest video of construction at the bottom of our post.
