A passionate artist and talented musician, our clients asked us to design a guest house + studio that was efficient yet eclectic and reflected the design of their mid-century modern home. They playfully named their new house Malum Malum, which in Latin translates to “Bad Apple”, after the two crooked apple trees on their property. Malum Malum’s two connected structures include a two-bedroom guest house with a lofted art-studio above, and a music studio designed with seven sides so as to maximize the acoustic quality of the space.
