Seeing a design come to life little by little is one of the most fulfilling things about being an architect. Now five months into construction and framing all complete, Chalet Perche is really starting to take shape.
Construction Update: May 2018
Concrete floors were completed last week. The foyer floor finish will be polished concrete and the rest of the house will be wood. For this reason the concrete is placed lower everywhere besides the foyer so that the finished wood floor and finished concrete foyer are flush.
The support structure at the living room opening has always been a challenge as it needs to be both structural and elegant. On our last site visit we were thrilled to see that the details we worked on carefully with our engineers are brought to life so perfectly by our contractors.
