Happy winter! We hope you’ve been enjoying the snowy days as much as we have – hopefully near a cozy fire! The last weeks of the year are always a flurry of activity in the studio as we wrap up projects, squeeze in the last client meetings before the holidays, and look ahead towards the New Year.
We are all eagerly awaiting the final photos for Art Fort. We got a sneak peek today and they look fantastic. Keep an eye out for a special post next week for the full reveal!
We’re also looking forward to a team gathering next week for a holiday celebration before we close the studio for the holiday break. We’re all looking forward to spending some time together before visiting family, catching up with loved ones, and enjoying the holiday season.
In the Studio
Over the past few weeks, we’ve continued working on Quattro, a new construction project up in Saugerties. We had a fantastic hybrid in-person + Zoom meeting with our clients just before the Thanksgiving holiday and had a lot of fun looking at materials and refining the design of the art studio space!
We’ve also been working our way through Pre-Design and early Schematic Design for our Misty Hollow project. This is a large family property in the Catskills. We’re looking at how best to expand sleeping space and are working on schemes for renovation, addition and new construction!
For our new renovation project in Woodstock that we’re calling RaZa Reno, we’ve been working on documenting existing conditions. This will set us up really well for jumping into Schematic Design in the New Year!
MCM Reno, our midcentury modern renovation project closer to New York City, had a big win this month! We received approval from the Board of Architectural Review, which means we are one step closer to having a permit and starting construction next year. We’ve also been working closely with our clients to develop the interior design of the project. We’ve been having fun looking through inspiration images and putting together material palettes!
Site Visits and Construction
The winter weather hasn’t stopped us from being onsite and visiting our projects currently in construction. Our Fermata client sent us these gorgeous photos of the sunset and the courtyard at night. So fun to see this space during different times of day!
At IRIE House, siding has started going up! We love the final selection and how it looks with the metal details around the rest of the house.
Hemlock Hideaway, a renovation project in Accord, is nearing the finish line! We stopped by at the end of November to take a look.
Footings have been poured at Vannstrom, a new home that we’ve been working on in High Falls. Foundation work on this sloping site is now nearing completion. We are looking forward to seeing this project take shape next year!
Excavation and demo has started at Jardin66! We’ve been working on finalizing details based on the uncovered foundations and are looking forward to seeing the project in person next week!
Woodland Pop House is finally POPPING with color! Our clients sent us these really fun photos of the outside of the house at night. It’s been so fun seeing their vision for the project coming to life.
Last but certainly not least, Gardiner Art Studio has siding installed! Wood floors and drywall have also been in progress on the interior and looking fantastic.
